Box Score HARRISVILLE, R.I. (Jan. 15) – Freshman goaltender Sarah Ribarich made 20 saves in her first career shutout as the Cortland State women's hockey team edged Nichols, 1-0 Saturday night at the June Rockwell Levy Rink. The Red Dragons improve to 2-10-2 overall after snapping a four-game losing streak, while Nichols falls to 2-12-0.
Sophomore forward Taylor Puckhaber finished off a breakaway to score the lone goal of the game 7:03 into the second period after a turnover in the neutral zone. Gina Tomei and Kelsey Shares were credited with assists.

Courtney Carey (Belmont, Mass.) streaked into the Cortland zone and ripped a shot from the top of the left circle, but Ribarich made a quick glove save to keep the one-goal lead.
Late in the third period, the Red Dragons appeared to edge ahead with a five-on-three goal when Giamo tipped in a shot from the point by Chelsey Wright, but it was waved off with a high stick call.
Melissa Mansfield (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) made 14 saves in the opening 42 minutes before leaving due to injury.
Francesca Palazzo (Bernardston, Mass.) finished out the game with five stops.
The Bison return to ECAC East action on Friday, January 21 in a 7:40 p.m. home game against University of Southern Maine. Cortland State plays a pair of ECAC West games next weekend at Potsdam State, opening the series on Saturday, January 22 at 3 p.m.
