The Wentworth hockey team scored six power-play goals in a 6-1 win over Nichols in an ECAC Northeast contest played at Matthews Arena, snapping Nichols' six-game win streak. The Bison tied the game up at 3:45 of the middle frame when junior forward Will Munson (Corona, Calif.) put home a shot to the right side after being set up in front by freshman forward Zach Kohn (Hartland, Wis.) and sophomore defenseman Kevin Richardson (Temecula, Calif.).

The Nichols College women’s basketball team shot 56% from the field and controlled play throughout, rolling to an 80-60 defeat over Gordon at the Bennett Center on Saturday. The win – the third in a row - moves the Bison to 11-9 overall and 4-5 in TCCC play. Gordon drops to 9-12, and stands at 2-7 in conference action. Lyndsey Bennett (No. Brookfield, Mass.) filled the stats sheet with 12 points, four assists, four rebounds and five steals.

The Gordon College men’s basketball team won its 13th straight game with a 62-49 victory over Nichols College Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center. The Scots pulled away after the teams were tied, 25-25, at halftime.Pete Atkins (Gainesville, Fla.) scored 16 of his 18 points in the opening stanza, and pulled down eight rebounds in the game.

The No. 6 Trinity College women's hockey team posted a 6-1 victory over the visiting Nichols College Bison in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Williams Rink.  Trinity improves to 15-3-2 overall while the Bison drop to 2-14-3. Cheryl Pitts (Wakefield, Mass.) scored the lone goal for the BIson.

Nichols College spoiled a second period rally from Becker College, as the Bison defeated the Hawks 3-2 in ECAC Northeast men’s hockey action. Jacob Rinn (Warwick, RI) had 29 saves on the night while  Matt Sayer (Lowell, Mass.) netted the game winner.

Backed by 30 saves from junior netminder Christine Rigosi (Ridgewood, N.Y.), the Nichols College women’s hockey team tied Wesleyan College, 0-0 Wednesday night in a non-conference game at June Rockwell Levy Rink. The tie brings the Bison’s record to 2-13-3 and the Cardinals’ to 3-14-1.

The Nichols College men’s basketball team survived a late surge by Anna Maria and held on to defeat the AMCATS, 65-63, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game Wednesday evening. Nichols improves to 10-9 overall and 3-5 in conference action, while Anna Maria drops to 8-12 overall and 3-5 in league play. Senior forward Ryan Wilcox (West Granby, Conn.) led the Bison with 19 points and seven rebounds to come within 26 points of 1,000 on his career.

DUDLEY, Mass. (Feb. 3) – The Nichols College women’s basketball team rallied past Anna Maria for a 67-59 victory in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup Wednesday evening. The Bison improve to 10-9 overall and 3-5 in conference action, while the AMCATS dip to 9-11 and 1-7 in league games. Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) led Nichols with 13 points and a game-high eight assists, netting nine in the second half.

Nichols College men’s ice hockey players Matt Sayer (Lowell, Mass.) and Danny Greiner (Columbus, Ohio) have been named the ECAC Northeast Player and Rookie of the Week, for play ending Sunday, January 31. Sayer led the Bison to a pair of conference wins with seven points including a hat trick against Western New England College, while Greiner was a key member of the power play with three of his five points coming with the man advantage.

Nichols College first-year forward Kyle Mascilak (Sparta, N.J.) has been named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, for play ending Sunday, January 31. Mascilak averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this week and posted a career-high 28 points to lead Nichols to a 92-79 win over TCCC rival Western New England College.
