Nichols College Athletics

Traina is in his fifth season at the helm of the Nichols men's soccer program. In 2008, he coached the Bison into the TCCC Championship game for the first time in 20 years. He then lead the team to an appearance in the ECAC tournament. In 2006, he guided the Bison into the TCCC quarterfinals for the first time since the 2002 season. He previously coached the women's team at Nichols for three seasons, leading the women's team into post-season play each of the three years. In 2002 he guided the team to the CCC championship, and Nichols' first-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Prior to coming to Nichols, he spent four years as the varsity soccer coach at Shrewsbury High School and won two league championships and one district tournament championship. In addition to Shrewsbury, he has coached at the high school and college levels for 14 years. He was also the coach of Juventus u 14 in the Massachusetts Premiere League, where his team won seven tournament championships. Traina also has his NSCAA Advanced National Coaching License.

Traina attended Keene State College and his playing experience spans from Auburn High School to Keene State College and Worcester State College, finally to the South Florida Semi-Pro League. In addition to his coaching duties, he also serves as the Nichols Recreation and Athletic Center Manager.

Traina currently resides in West Boylston, Mass., with his wife, Sherri, and daughter, Mikaila.
