Vendetti Field

Once known as the Bison Bowl, Nichols College now plays all of its home football, field hockey and lacrosse games on the new Michael J. Vendetti Multi-Purpose Field. The men's and women's soccer teams also play some of their home contests on the field. The field includes an eight-lane rubberized quarter-mile track surrounding a turf field surface. To facilitate media coverage, there is a new press box with online capabilities and Musco lighting to light the field for night contests. The College hosted its first-ever nighttime football game on Friday, Sept. 8, 2006.
The field is named in honor of Nichols College Hall of Fame member Michael J. Vendetti. Vendetti led the football team to five New England Football Conference Championship in the 1970's as head coach. He coached football and track at Nichols from 1962 to 1985. He also served as Nichols Athletics Director from 1980 to 1985. Vendetti was instrumental in Nichols College adding women's basketball, field hockey and women's softball to its athletics program.
