Three members of the Nichols College men’s soccer team have been named to the 2009 All-The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Junior midfielder Mark Capitanio (Mansfield, Mass.) was named to the First Team, while sophomore forward David Johnson (Canterbury, Conn.) and junior midfielder Michael Schell (So. Windsor, Conn.) earned a spot on the Honorable Mention Team. The Nichols College men’s soccer team scored the game’s lone goal midway through the second half to defeat the Colby-Sawyer Chargers on a very rainy and cold senior day. Junior Ryan Wytrych (Feeding Hills, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season to lift the Bison to their 12th victory of the year. Nichols, now 12-6 overall and 8-5 in TCCC play, finishes in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings and will be the sixth seed in the TCCC post-season tournamnet.
