The fifth-seeded Bison drop to 14-11 overall and await a possible ECAC DIII New England Tournament berth. The fourth-seeded Chargers improve to 15-11 and advance to the semifinals Thursday to face top-seeded Gordon at 7 p.m. in Wenham, Mass. Pete Atkins (Gainesville, Fla.) led the Bison with 24 points, scoring 14 in the first half on five-of-eight shooting, including two three pointers. The Bison (14-10, 7-6) will travel to fourth-seeded Colby-Sawyer (14-11, 7-6) on Tuesday, February 23, for a 7:00 p.m. quarterfinal round game at the Hogan Sports Center in New London, N.H. Tickets for the game will be available on site and are $4 adults and $2 for students and children under 12. Nichols improves to 14-10 overall and 7-6 in league action, while the Nor&rsquo;Easters dip to 11-13 overall and 7-6 in conference games. Wilcox poured in a game-high 24 points, while Riley scored 22. Chris Paquin (Barre, Mass.) joined in on the double-digit scoring, chipping in with 13 points including three of four three-pointers. Junior guard Justin Aldrich (Douglas, Mass.) put the Bison ahead, 56-55 with 2:10 left, with a three-pointer as the shot clock expired to give them their first lead in the game. Wilcox becomes the 23rd player in Nichols College men&rsquo;s basketball history to score his 1,000th point, and the second this season. After being just 16 points away from 1,000 coming into today&rsquo;s game, the senior captain was able to match that number exactly thanks to three field goals and 10 made free throws, eight coming in the second half.
