Bison volunteer at Easter Seals volleyball tournament

DUDLEY, Mass. – Members of the Nichols College men's and women's tennis team took time out of their busy academic schedules earlier this week to volunteer at the Easter Seals Massachusetts volleyball tournament at Assumption College.

Student-athletes performed a myriad of tasks, ranging from setup and handing out t-shirts to taking photos. Several of them even filled in for a missing team to allow the tournament to move along.

“It was a great way to bring our teams together in advance of our spring season,” said Bison head men's and women's tennis coach Paul Brower. “It was nice for our student-athletes to be able to pitch in and help Easter Seals run a great event.”

This year Easter Seals volleyball tournaments were held in seven locations to increase community awareness and raise funds for Easter Seals services. By taking part, Nichols student-athletes helped provide equal opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to live, learn, work and play.

“It was great to see so many people come out and support the Easter Seals,” said sophomore Andrew Haas, a member of the men's tennis squad. “The atmosphere was competitive, which made for a night SO worth volunteering for!”
