DUDLEY, Mass. (May 4) – Nichols College softball players Allasyn Lieneck (Oldsmar, Fla.) and Chelsea Correia (Seekonk, Mass.) have been named to the 2011 All-The Commonwealth Coast Conference Team, it was announced Tuesday. Lieneck, an outfielder, earned Second Team honors, while Correia, a catcher, was named to the Honorable Mention Team.

Lieneck started 23 of 24 games in the outfield for the Bison, batting .380 with four doubles and a home run in TCCC games. She stole nine bases in 10 attempts, and struck out only four times in 71 at-bats. She crossed the plate 18 times and logged 34 total bases after posting an on-base percentage of .463. Lieneck closed the regular season on an eight-game hit streak during which she collected 18 hits.

Correia led the team with a .406 batting average, starting all 22 conference games in which she played. She led the team with five home runs and 23 RBI, logging a team-high 50 total bases to go with a team-best slugging percentage of .725. She stole seven bases in eight attempts, and hit seven doubles among her 28 hits, collecting at least one hit in all but five TCCC games. The all-conference honor marks the second in Correia's career; she was also named Honorable Mention in 2010.

The third-seeded Bison (22-16) take on fifth-seeded Roger Williams in the elimination round of the TCCC Tournament at 2:30 Thursday at Gordon.
