Lindsay Benoit have earned weekly women's tennis honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, it was announced Tuesday. Dyakiv took home Player of the Week honors for the second time this season while
Lindsay Benoit was named Rookie of the Week for an eye-popping fourth time.
The duo delivered three of Nichols five points in a 5-4 win over Endicott on Saturday to help the Bison to its second consecutive undefeated conference slate in addition to the CCC regular season title and the tournament's top seed. Dyakiv and Benoit downed their opponents 8-3 as Nichols jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match.
In singles action, Benoit cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 victory to push the Bison lead to 4-2 over the Gulls for her 13th individual win of the season. Dyakiv sealed the victory for Nichols as she bested her opponent with a dramatic 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 triumph.
No 1. Nichols will host the winner of today's quarterfinal matchup between #4 Salve Regina and #5 Curry on Wednesday, October 19th at 2:00 p.m.
