SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 19) – Nichols College first year attacker Steve Delahanty (Auburn, N.H.) has been named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s lacrosse Rookie of the Week for play ending Sunday, April 18. Delahanty notched a career-high six points to lead the Bison to their first conference win of the season in an 8-7 victory over Wentworth on Saturday.

Delahanty scored four goals and dished out a pair of assists in the game, netting a pair of man-up scores. The win marked the first over the Leopards in 12 meetings, dating back to 1998. Earlier in the week, Delahanty scored a man-up goal in a home loss to Gordon.

The rookie is tied for the team lead with 15 goals, scoring a team-best five man-up tallies. Delahanty has added four assists for 19 points to rank second on the team and has started 11 of the Bison’s 12 games.

Nichols takes a break from conference action on Tuesday to travel to Mitchell for a 4 p.m. game before returning to Vendetti Field for a crucial 7 p.m. TCCC game against Anna Maria on Wednesday.
