NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. (April 11) – Nichols College senior Pat Pio (Somers, Conn.) fired an even par on the final day to take individual medalist honors at the Hampton Inn Classic, hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the Allendale Country Club. Pio stood one back after the first day and finished four strokes ahead of his nearest competitor in leading the Nichols team to a sixth-place tie.

Josh Paulhus (Sutton, Mass.) finished tied in 15th with a two-day 161 (80, 81), while Nick Deni (Enfield, Conn.) and Shawn Santos (Agawam, Mass.) stood tied in 55th at 31-over 175. Both rebounded from tough opening rounds, as Deni cut 11 strokes off his Saturday score to post an 82 on Sunday. Bruce Carter, Jr. (Worcester, Mass.) rounded out the Bison squad with a two-day 195 (97, 98) in 88th.
