DUDLEY, Mass. (April 10) – The Endicott College men’s lacrosse team won its fifth-straight game Saturday afternoon, defeating Nichols, 14-1, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Vendetti Field. The Gulls improve to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in TCCC action, while Nichols falls to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in league play.

The Gulls’ scoring was evenly spread throughout the team as 12 players found the back of the net, led by a pair of goals each from Connor McCormack and Brendan McCarthy. Justin Sproul posted three points on the day with a goal and two assists.

Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.) scored twice for Nichols, while Ryan Pacific (Danbury, Conn.) added a goal and an assist.

Sam Ozycz won 13 of 16 faceoffs to lead the Gulls to a 16 of 22 win rate on the day (.727). Endicott also held the Bison scoreless in 11 man-up opportunities on the day while converting at a 1-for-5 clip.

A 4-0 first-quarter lead ballooned into a 10-0 advantage at halftime, partially in thanks to a man-up score from Ozycz and a man-down score from McCarthy late in the second quarter.

Connor Prescott added to Endicott’s lead just 33 seconds into the third frame before Michael Farragher (Worcester, Mass.) found Healy in front of the net for the Bison’s first goal at 12:57. Pacific and Sproul then traded goals to end the quarter.

Pacific opened the fourth by connecting with Healy before Tim Doolin and Jeff Trotsky rattled off a pair for the Gulls. Macaulay Gillis (Northborough, Mass.) capped the scoring with the Bison’s final goal with just over a minute to play.

Scott Gray (Annapolis, Md.) made 19 stops for the Bison, while the Gulls used a trio of netminders, starting with Eric Hagarty, who earned the win with one two stops in the opening quarter. Will Lomas allowed two goals among seven saves through the third before giving way to Rich Parez, who made two saves while allowing two goals in the fourth quarter.

Endicott held a 53-29 advantage in shots and won the overall groundball battle, 48-47, after trailing at the break, 26-23. The Gulls also committed six fewer turnovers at 24-30.

Nichols is back in action Tuesday in a 4 p.m. TCCC game against Gordon at Vendetti Field. The Gulls take on Roanoake College in a 1 p.m. game Sunday in Darien, Conn.
