NEFC Names 12 From Football To All-Academic Team

DUDLEY, Mass. (Feb. 1) – Twelve Nichols College student-athletes have been named to the 2009-2010 New England Football Conference All-Academic Team. A total of 254 student-athletes from the league's 16 teams were selected to the squad.

Two seniors, DL Anthony Freni (Norton, Mass.), a human resource management major, and OL/TE John Sielawa (Dudley, Mass.), a sport management major, were honored for a third straight year. Senior WR Anthony Pillari (Lumberton, NJ), a sport management major, ended his career with his first nomination.

A sport management major, junior DB Ryan Pandolfi (North Smithfield, R.I.), and classmate DB Brandon Wallace (Windsor, Conn.) who majors in management and economics, were also named to the All-Academic squad for the second consecutive year.

Seven sophomores were named to the team including K Bill Crory (Townsend, Mass.), an accounting major, OL Nick Gaeta (East Boston, Mass.), who double majors in accounting and finance, WR Brandon Haddad (Pascoag, R.I.), a sport management major, LB Christopher Kerrigan (Hyde Park, Mass.), a criminal justice major, DB Mike Rubalcaba (Barre, Vt.), an accounting major, DB Alex Tavares (Pawtucket, R.I.), a general business major and LB John Zona (Shrewsbury, Mass.) who majors in finance.
