Women's Lacrosse at RIC Cancelled, Baseball Rescheduled
DUDLEY, Mass. -- The women's lacrosse game scheduled for Thursday at Rhode Island College has been cancelled and will not be made up. The baseball team's home The Commonwealth Coast Cofnerence doubleheader against Anna Maria that was postponed on Wednesday, April 22, has been rescheduled for Friday, April 24, with a 2 p.m. start time.

3.11.10 | Women's Lacrosse
Sophomore goalkeeper Mary Michaud (Agawam, Mass.) made 22 saves in the Nichols women's lacrosse team's home-opening 17-2 loss to Roger Williams. Nichols dips to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference games. The Bison are now idle until  March 22nd home game against Daniel Webster at 7 p.m.

3.9.10 | Women's Lacrosse

 Sophomore attack Krista-Jean Forand (Plymouth, Mass.) scored five goals and added an assist in the Nichols College women's lacrosse team's season opener at Lasell Tuesday afternoon. Nichols held a two-goal lead at halftime and after falling behind, tied the game late, but the Lasers rallied for a 16-12 victory.

Nichols College Director of Athletics Charlyn Robert has announced two coaching changes. Kristan Mallet has been named the head coach of the softball program after serving as the women’s lacrosse head coach for the past three seasons; she is also the Bison’s head field hockey coach. Damir Pesa has been promoted to head coach of the women’s lacrosse program after serving as an assistant coach in the 2009 campaign; he also serves as an assistant women’s soccer coach.

Nichols College first-year attacker Krista-Jean Forand (Plymouth, Mass.) has been named the 2009 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, it was announced Thursday by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Forand was a standout performer during her inaugural season at Nichols, and has already made her mark in the Bison’s record books. In 13 total games played, Forand scored 36 of Nichols’ 85 total goals, while assisting on 10 others for a team-high 46 points.

The University of New England women’s lacrosse team outlasted Nichols for an 11-6 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Saturday afternoon. The Bison, who received 19 saves from netminder Mary Michaud (Agawam, Mass.) wrap up their season at 3-10 overall and 0-9 in TCCC action.

4.22.09 | Women's Lacrosse

The Western New England College women’s lacrosse team closed out the regular season with a 20-1 victory over Nichols in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Vendetti Field Wednesday evening. Nichols, which received its lone goal from Brittany Tremont (Guilford, Conn.), falls to 3-9 overall and 0-8 in TCCC action. Tremont led the Bison with three draw controls, while goalkeeper Mary Michaud (Agawam, Mass.) picked up a game-high five groundballs and made 12 saves.
