Kaila Gray Named Second Team All-TCCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College senior Kaila Gray (Pembroke, N.H.) has earned All-Conference recognition from The Commonwealth Coast Conference, it was announced Friday by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. The midfielder was named to the All-TCCC Second Team for the third time in her career; she previously earned Second Team honors in 2005 and 2006.

Gray started all 18 games for the Bison this season, helping the team into the TCCC postseason for the first time since 2004. With 18 points on eight goals and a pair of assists, she ranks second on the team in scoring. Gray all but guaranteed a victory for the Bison when collecting a point – Nichols went 8-0 when the senior tallied at least one point in the game this season.

Gray's penalty kick goal against Western New England College on September 23 gave the Bison their first TCCC victory of the season, and her pair of tallies in Nichols' 5-1 win at Anna Maria on October 29 helped clinch a playoff berth for the Bison.

Nichols (10-7-1, 6-6-1 TCCC) clinched the eighth seed in the TCCC Championship Tournament and travels to top-seeded Endicott (13-2-2, 12-0-1) Saturday for a 1 p.m. quarterfinal game. A Nichols comeback fell short in the teams' previous meeting on October 15 in Dudley, Mass., as the Gulls secured a 4-2 victory.
