DUDLEY, Mass. (April 30) -- Sophomore attacker Krista-Jean Forand (Plymouth, Mass.) was named to the 2010 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Honorable Mention Team, it was announced Friday by Commissioner Gregg M Kaye.

Salve Regina University scored with 26.6 seconds remaining in overtime to edge Nichols, 12-11, ollege in both teams’ The Commonwealth Coast Conference regular-season finale Wednesday evening at Vendetti Field. Salve Regina moves to 7-10 overall and 4-7 in conference play, while Nichols closes out the season with a 4-11 overall record and a 2-9 TCCC ledger. Sophomore Krista-Jean Forand (Plymouth, Mass.) closed out the season with six goals and a pair of assists to set program records for goals (53) and assists (12) and points (65) in a season. She now stands second on the career points (111) and goals (89) charts and is the program’s all-time leader in assists with 22.

The Colby-Sawyer women’s lacrosse team ended the regular season with a 19-7 victory over the visiting Bison of Nichols College on Monday afternoon. The win improves the Chargers’ overall record to 6-10 and conference record to 5-6. The loss puts Nichols at 4-10 overall and 2-8 in conference play. Sophomore Krista-Jean Forand (Plymouth, Mass.) scored three of her four goals in the first half to lead the Bison.

The University of New England women's lacrosse team defeated Nichols College, 14-4, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse action Friday evening at Barbara J. Hazard Field. Bison sophomore goalkeeper Mary Michaud (Agawam, Mass.) made 10 saves, in addition to tallying seven ground balls and five caused turnovers -- both game-highs.

Nichols College women’s lacrosse team edged Anna Maria, 13-12, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game Wednesday at Vendetti Field. The Bison improve to 4-8 overall and 2-6 in TCCC action, while the AMCATS drop to 2-13 overall and 1-9 in TCCC games after losing their eighth straight game. Chelsea Shaughnessy (Halifax, Mass.) recorded a career-high six points on five goals and an assist for the Bison.

The wet weather forecast for Saturday has forced schedule changes for most of the Nichols College athletics events, with the exception of the men's lacrosse team's senior day game against Wentworth at noon. The home baseball doubleheader and men's tennis match have been postponed to Monday, as has the softball doubleheader at Wentworth. The road women's lacrosse game, meanwhile, has been postponed for two weeks.

Gordon improves to 4-5 overall and moves to 4-3 in conference play, while the Bison fall to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in league games.

The Nichols College women's lacrosse team fell to Endicott, 21-4 in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Vendetti Field Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Gulls remain undefeated in conference action and remain atop the standings with a 7-0 record; Endicott stands at 9-2 overall. Nichols, meanwhile, dips to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in league play. Nichols found the net four times in the second half, getting all four from different players, including a first career marker from Ericka Silvia (Middletown, R.I.).

The Western New England College women's lacrosse team defeated visiting Nichols 22-5 Wednesday afternoon in a TCCC game. The Golden Bears, who evened their record at 5-5, are now 3-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) while the Bison fall to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the conference. Junior defender Kaitlyn DiBuono (Auburn, Mass.) scored her first career goal in the game.
