The Nichols College men’s lacrosse team’s postseason fate was decided by a coin flip Monday afternoon, as The Commonwealth Coast Conference conducted a three-way coin toss to determine the eighth and final seed in the upcoming men’s lacrosse tournament. The University of New England won the flip and earned the final postseason berth. Nichols concludes its season with a 2-8 TCCC ledger and a 5-10 overall record – the most wins since 2004.

The University of New England men's lacrosse team picked up an 11-1 The Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Nichols College Saturday afternoon at Barbara J. Hazard Field. With the win, the Nor'easters move into a three-way tie for eighth in the league standings at 2-8 -- even with the Bison and Wentworth Institute of Technology. As none of the first four tie-breakers separate one team apart from the other two, the conference office will conduct a coin flip to determine the final playoff team at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 26.

Led by five goals from junior Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.), the Nichols College men’s lacrosse team defeated Anna Maria, 13-10, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game Wednesday night on Vendetti Field. The win marks the third-straight for the Bison, who improve to 5-9 overall and 2-7 in TCCC games with their first three-game win streak since 2004. Anna Maria drops to 4-11 overall and 1-8 in TCCC action after losing its sixth-straight game.

The Nichols College men’s lacrosse team won its second-straight game Tuesday, defeating Mitchell College, 20-4. Ryan Pacific (Danbury, Conn.) led the Bison (4-9) with nine points, including the 100th of his career. Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.) led all scorers with six goals while Pacific, who needed just two points to hit the 100-point mark, added three goals and six assists for the Bison. Nichols held a 69-18 advantage in shots and won all but four of the 29 face-offs en route to victory.

Nichols College first year attacker Steve Delahanty (Auburn, N.H.) has been named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s lacrosse Rookie of the Week for play ending Sunday, April 18. Delahanty notched a career-high six points to lead the Bison to their first conference win of the season in an 8-7 victory over Wentworth on Saturday.

Led by a career-high six points from first year attacker Steve Delahanty (Auburn, N.H.), the Nichols College men’s lacrosse team edged Wentworth, 8-7, Saturday at Vendetti Field for its first victory in The Commonwealth Coast Conference play this season. Nichols snaps a five-game skid and improves to 3-9 overall and keeps its playoff hopes alive with a 1-7 TCCC record. The win marks the first for the Bison in the series against Wentworth since the teams’ first meeting back on April 25, 1998, and snaps a 12-game losing streak against the Leopards.

The Nichols College men’s lacrosse team fell to Gordon, 12-7, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game on Vendetti Field Tuesday afternoon. The Fighting Scots used a balanced attack with four players netting four points apiece to win their seventh straight game and improve to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the TCCC. Nichols ended its man-up woes with a 2-for-4 effort, but dips to 2-9 overall and remains winless in the TCCC at 0-7. Junior attacker Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.) led the Bison in scoring with three goals, while classmate Ryan Pacific (Danbury, Conn.) notched two goals and a pair of assists.

The Endicott College men’s lacrosse team defeated Nichols, 14-4, Saturday afternoon in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game at Vendetti Field. The Gulls improve to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in TCCC action, while Nichols falls to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in league play. Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.) scored twice for Nichols, while Ryan Pacific (Danbury, Conn.) added a goal and an assist.

Matt Caulfield (Fairfield, Conn.) scored for Nichols College as the Bison fell to Western New England College, 15-1, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s lacrosse action at Golden Bears Stadium Wednesday. Nichols falls to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in TCCC action. Scott Gray (Annapolis, Md.) made 20 saves through the first 53 minutes.
