The Wentworth hockey team scored six power-play goals in a 6-1 win over Nichols in an ECAC Northeast contest played at Matthews Arena, snapping Nichols' six-game win streak. The Bison tied the game up at 3:45 of the middle frame when junior forward Will Munson (Corona, Calif.) put home a shot to the right side after being set up in front by freshman forward Zach Kohn (Hartland, Wis.) and sophomore defenseman Kevin Richardson (Temecula, Calif.).

Nichols College spoiled a second period rally from Becker College, as the Bison defeated the Hawks 3-2 in ECAC Northeast men’s hockey action. Jacob Rinn (Warwick, RI) had 29 saves on the night while  Matt Sayer (Lowell, Mass.) netted the game winner.

Nichols College men’s ice hockey players Matt Sayer (Lowell, Mass.) and Danny Greiner (Columbus, Ohio) have been named the ECAC Northeast Player and Rookie of the Week, for play ending Sunday, January 31. Sayer led the Bison to a pair of conference wins with seven points including a hat trick against Western New England College, while Greiner was a key member of the power play with three of his five points coming with the man advantage.

A pair of goals just 21 seconds apart in the final three minutes of the game lifted the Nichols College men’s ice hockey team to a 7-6 victory over Salve Regina Saturday afternoon in an ECAC Northeast game at June Rockwell Levy Rink. Nichols improves to 11-6-2 overall and 5-3-0 in conference play after its fifth-straight win, while the Seahawks drop to 1-18-0 and 0-8-0 in conference action.

Junior forward Matt Sayer (Lowell, Mass.) recorded a hat trick and an assist to lead the Nichols College men’s ice hockey team to its fourth-straight win, a 7-2 ECAC Northeast victory over visiting Western New England College Wednesday evening at June Rockwell Levy Rink. The Bison improve to 10-6-2 overall and 4-3 in conference action, while the Golden Bears slip to 1-14-1 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Junior forward Matt Roberts (Merrimac, Mass.) and first-year forward Zach Kohn (Hartland, Wis.) have been named the ECAC Northeast Hockey League Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for play ending Sunday, January 24. Roberts recorded five points on his first three goals of the season and a pair of assists, while Kohn added to his conference-leading point total with six on two goals and four assists to guide the Bison to a pair of conference victories this week. The award marks the first for Roberts, and the fourth for Kohn.

Junior Matt Roberts’ (Merrimac, Mass.) power play goal with 5:33 remaining lifted Nichols to a 4-3 ECAC Northeast ice hockey victory over Suffolk Saturday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena. Nichols improves to 9-6-2 overall and 3-3-0 in ECAC Northeast play.

Senior Zeke Costello (Shelby Township, Mich.) scored his first two goals of the season amid a four-point night to lead the Nichols College men’s ice hockey team to a 7-2 ECAC Northeast Hockey League victory over visiting Johnson & Wales University Wednesday evening at June Rockwell Levy Rink. Costello, who entered the night with 96 career points, joined the Bison’s 100-point club with his record 81st career assist in the second period. Also tallying four-point nights for the Bison (8-6-2, 2-3-0 ECAC) were junior Matt Roberts (Merrimac, Mass.) and rookie Zach Kohn (Hartland, Wis.), who each scored two goals and added two assists.

Senior forward Zeke Costello (Shelby Township, Mich.) became the Nichols College all-time assists leader as the Bison defeated Worcester State, 5-4, in non-conference men’s ice hockey action at June Rockwell Levy Rink Saturday evening. With 80 career assists, Costello eclipses the 31-year old mark of 79 set by Dave Delmonico (1974-78). Nichols improves to 7-6-2 with the win.

The Bison even their record at 6-6-2, and the Ice Dogs stand at 7-7 after the non-conference game. Costello ties a 31 year-old record of 79 set by Dave Delmonico (1974-78).
