The Gordon College men’s basketball team won its 13th straight game with a 62-49 victory over Nichols College Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center. The Scots pulled away after the teams were tied, 25-25, at halftime.Pete Atkins (Gainesville, Fla.) scored 16 of his 18 points in the opening stanza, and pulled down eight rebounds in the game.

The Nichols College men’s basketball team survived a late surge by Anna Maria and held on to defeat the AMCATS, 65-63, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game Wednesday evening. Nichols improves to 10-9 overall and 3-5 in conference action, while Anna Maria drops to 8-12 overall and 3-5 in league play. Senior forward Ryan Wilcox (West Granby, Conn.) led the Bison with 19 points and seven rebounds to come within 26 points of 1,000 on his career.

Nichols College first-year forward Kyle Mascilak (Sparta, N.J.) has been named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, for play ending Sunday, January 31. Mascilak averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this week and posted a career-high 28 points to lead Nichols to a 92-79 win over TCCC rival Western New England College.
